Steven Plount (b.1952) is an American artist based in the American Southwest. He is known for reductive geometric abstraction in the Northern Romantic Tradition and the genres of Tonalism and Gestural painting.

HIs body of work transitions through 50 years of experimentation in multiple genres in the fields of painting oils and watercolor, and includes printmaking, ceramics, and weaving tapestries. .
His recent work is imbued with the touch of hand, mind, brush and chance in painterly manner achieved using sensuous color on fine paper and linen.
Plount holds an M.F.A. from the Pratt Institute of Fine Art, Brooklyn, NYC. He has lived and worked in West Bengal, India, Colombia, New Mexico, Colorado, New York City, and currently resides in the American Southwest.
